Using your personal information
Personal information which is supplied to us may be used in a number of ways, for example:
- to provide food parcels and support
- to keep you up to date with our activities
- for statistical analysis
The personal information we collect includes your name, contact details, number of people in your household and their ages. Our lawful basis for processing the data is legitimate interest.
Where it is relevant to the referral, we may collect data about your health. This is considered sensitive personal data and is not shared outside of West Craven Food Bank without your explicit consent.
In order for us to respond to repeat referrals effectively, your data may be kept on our database for up to 2 years from the date the last support was provided.
Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential, and all the personal data we process is processed by our volunteer staff. As we work in partnership with referring agencies, there may be occasions where data is shared between us and your referring agency.
No other third parties have access to your personal data unless you give us your consent, or the law allows them to do so. We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You have the right to ask to see any information we hold about you by submitting a ‘Subject Access Request’. You also have the right to ask for information which you believe to be incorrect to be rectified.
