West Craven Food Bank is a charitable organisation formed in 2013 in response to a growing need in the community. We are based in Barnoldswick and Earby and serve the communities of West Craven and the surrounding area. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and rely on the local community for donations of food and financial support.
We initially worked with Spacious Place Engage (formerly part of Community Solutions) but became independent in October 2016.
Although West Craven Food Bank grew out of a joint initiative from the local churches and community, the services provided are available, without discrimination or prejudice, to anyone in the area we serve, regardless of their faith of beliefs.
Once someone is identified as needing our help, a food parcel is made up for them and delivered by a team of volunteers to the client’s home. The volunteers aim to build relationships with each client and provide signposting and encouragement as they seek to make the next steps to improve their social, economic and physical situation. Our aim is to assist individuals and families as they move from a point of genuine need into a place of hope and opportunity.
